SVA VISITING SØLV

Last week I was at DogA, the Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture, to check out the newest contribution from the Norwegian brand SØLV.
Their new clothing line, “Sonja”, for Fall/Winter 2012, was beautifully shown on mannequins displayed in "Atriet".By following the silver footprints on the floor, I was guided through their world by little boards of facts and pictures on the wall. The new line was very present, but also pieces from their classic line was there.
The Norwegian Brand “Sølv” was established in 2010 by clothing- designer, Oda Midtlyngr Klempe, and graphic designer, Mari Stølan.Their goal and idea is to create a timeless clothing line with values that strongly rely on purity, consciousness and durability. The production of the design is done by experienced tailors who does their work with careens and preciseness. The fabric is situated in Bevera, Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe. The collaboration between SØLV and their fabric made the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sintef to create a project which help and supports Moldova to blossom. The girls would like their customers to find pieces with personal value which might able the pieces to be passed on in generations - just like the Norwegian "arvesølv", which is an inspiration for SØLV. The possibility of eternity.
I have for sure found my piece that I would like to keep eternal -  Their amazingly tailored coat from the classic line!  It´s something special.
